elcome to our home, Whistle Creek Bed and Breakfast, where spectacular views are just the beginning. Meander through the park-like setting, amid the towering black walnut trees, as you approach the crest of 35
rolling acres in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Your hosts, Mike and Karen Jackson have brought much Southern charm to Whistle Creek since it was built in 2003. Entering the expansive foyer, the mountain views draw you further into the country elegance of this conveniently located bed and breakfast. Whistle Creek provides the privacy you want
without giving up the ease of access to Downtown Lexington, just six miles away.
Sweeping views are captured from either the private gazebo, where you may enjoy an evening beverage, or off the mutli-tiered deck, where you can sit and watch the wildlife graze nearby. You’ll get that “Top of the World” feeling as you look across the valley to the Blue Ridge Mountain range and marvel at the ever-changing colors and personalities of legendary House Mountain. You will wake up to the view of mountains rising out of the fog and feel as if you are sitting among the clouds. Be prepared for evening visions of spectacular sunsets as well and when the brilliant colors settle to rest upon
the mountain tops, you will hear the quiet and feel the peace that all our guests experience at Whistle Creek.
A full gourmet breakfast may be enjoyed from either the sunroom that overlooks the charming walled garden and private views of rolling pastures and mountains or in the formal
dining room featuring the stately black walnut furniture designed by your hostess and handmade by a local craftsman. After breakfast you may wish to take a stroll to the garden to feed the resident goldfish or explore the acreage surrounding Whistle Creek.
Our guests will enjoy meticulously decorated rooms that have large private baths and spacious closets. Your comfort and pleasure is paramount. Each room has complimentary "guest
forgettables" and nighttime bedside treats persuade you to forget the real world and enjoy the feeling of being away from it all.
The Magnolia Suite reflects true Southern charm and elegance. Guests especially enjoy the small private sitting area, the queen size iron bed adorned with rich red brocade, and the luxury of hand-painted furnishings and exquisite antiques. Relax in the Magnolia Suite for $165 per night.
The Americana Room features antique,
yet comfortable, twin beds warmed by handmade quilts created by your hostess.
The red/white/and blue décor is further enhanced by quilted wall hangings,
unique
accessories and furnishings. Sit at the hand painted desk and write down your
private thoughts as you gaze at the expansive House Mountain views from your
window. Enjoy the stars and stripes of the Americana Room for $155 per night.
A shared sitting area separates the guest rooms. It is the perfect place to spend time before retiring or having your morning coffee. This comfortable room provides a place to just relax, visit with other guests, watch TV or a movie, play a game, work a puzzle, or read a good book.
Local attractions are plentiful. Take a carriage ride through our town to acquaint yourself with its rich heritage. Enjoy a day of antiquing in the area and visit our local winery. Some of the reasons people come back to our county are the offerings of fishing, hiking, horseback riding, golf, museums and spectacular drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Private guides are available for fishing and hiking if requested. Gourmet picnic baskets can be prepared by your hostess for an additional fee. Information about other attractions such as Natural Bridge, Lime Kiln productions or Horse Center events is available.
Upon returning in the evening, you may encounter a flock of wild turkeys or deer grazing by the creek. Whatever brings you to Lexington, our goal is for your visit to Whistle Creek Bed and Breakfast to be a unique experience that leaves you looking forward to your next visit.
